The good news: we are finally in Japan! The less-good news: we are all deeply exhausted and jet-lagged after what was surely the longest travel day of our lives. No surprise there, but, man, it’s rough on the kids in particular.
One of our favorite stops in Porto was Livraria Lello, a stunning and unique bookstore that has been around in its current location since 1906.
We did not hit the ground running today—unlike travel days of the past (see: the start of our gap year travel). Instead, we moved deliberately and more slowly with virtually no agenda.
The title probably isn’t funny to anyone but me (I seem to inherited my dad’s terrible sense of humor), but there’s a joke in there! We had to abandon our plans of a year of travel back in early September when my back decided it was too cranky to carry on.
So that I don’t forget everything we’ve done recently in my attempts to catch up in this space, I’m jumping ahead a moment (and a few countries) to the past several days in London.
