One of our favorite stops in Porto was Livraria Lello, a stunning and unique bookstore that has been around in its current location since 1906.
Livraria Lello is jaw-droppingly beautiful. I wish I thought to take a picture of the facade, but I was so excited to go in that I never even thought about it. Oops.

Because the shop has become so popular with tourists (seemingly all in search of the perfect Instagram shot), they now charge a 5 Euro admission fee per person. I’m not usually someone interested in paying money to simply enter a store, but in the case of this bookstore, it was well worth it. Purchasers can put that toward an item in the shop—and the folks behind the store are using the funds to renovate the interior and restore the facade and stained glass.

All of the kids were impressed by the beauty of Livraria Lello too. That is until pasteis de nata started calling their names once again.
So happy to see you back on your trip! I’m hoping this means your back is much improved. I hope it’s not too late to thank you all for coming to our neck of the woods last month-it was so much fun to spend some time with you, Sam and the kids. Happy Thanksgiving and love, Millie
